Wednesday 16 September

Following the work teams of the last few days, the new hangar drainage had been completed, thank you to all the volunteers who helped – led by Peter Smith.

Wednesday was seemingly a nice day at first, although a little cold. Surprisingly only a small number of Wednesday stalwarts were on hand for Peter Smith’s briefing. North-west wind decent prognosis, but not in the end truly realised.
The member numbers increased slightly over the morning and Peter Smith and Shaun Dayman, plus various solo pilots, managed 36 flights, including some aerotows, thank you Alan Rappaport, also some  Family and Friend and first flights. John Borland won the cigar for a smidgeon over two hours solo.
It got rather gloomy and cold later on but by five o’clock everybody had flown, and we packed up the kit and went home for tea ( at least I did.) – Jonathan Erskine
