Well what a difference a day makes! Woke this morning to cloud and drizzle, I even needed to dig out my ’emergency jumper’ from the caravan!
Flying had a delayed start while we waited for the cloud to clear and the rain to ease! With only nine of us on the airfield we had our work cut out sharing the jobs and getting everyone airborne. Duty Instructor, Mike Sloggett took me for a met flight at 10:45am, and we were pleasantly surprised to find the cloud base just slightly higher than the top of the launch!
Flying continued until 1:30pm with Simon Minson (SM) taking a launch, we then stopped for lunch due to lack of numbers. We then got back to it in the afternoon, with choppy conditions, however, the sky was booming and extended flights were enjoyed by Pete Warren and Stirling at the end of the afternoon with Simon Minson who stepped in to help after his cross country flight. We had a great day, everyone flew and we finally packed up at 7pm!
