Saturday 17 October

A strong high pressure presented the club with clear skies today, but also with much colder temperatures than we’ve seen of late as well as a brisk north easterly wind .The log burner had been lit and there were a steady stream of members huddled around it. This despite DI John Pursey and Rob Hender wearing shorts while the rest wore jumpers and jackets.

West end launches began with an aerotow, but it was discovered that flight times with a winch launch were pretty much the same as being towed up behind the Eurofox. Winching was the launch method of choice after lunch, both for general training flights and our visitors.

With the expected return of our K21 (KEK) this coming week after a 4 month repair, our loaner glider was cleaned and made ready to return it to its owner.

A very respectable Autumn flying day with 25 glider flights. TS
