After Saturdays first flying day in weeks there was much hope for another one today. Unfortunately the wind having swung round to the south south east brought in some horrible murky cloud that took a while to shift in the light wind. Duty Instructor Pete Smith helped out by Peter Field, Guy Adams and Shaun Dayman worked their way through the long flying list, generally, pilots wanting currency check flights after the long weather enforced lay off.

Flying continued until mid-afternoon when a small lowering in temperature brought in the orographic cloud over the South ridge, causing the day to come to a premature end, and leaving a few unable to get in the air.

The last glider was walked back from the far end due to the deteriorating conditions which in hindsight was the correct decision.

For those who flew, it was great just to get back in the air, but incredibly frustrating for those who unfortunately missed out. Hopefully better weather is long overdue, and just round the corner now that the field is mostly dried out. – Mark Layton
