8 – 12 June Course Week

The first day of course week dawns wreathed in mist and fog that seemed to support the >90% chance of rain per the forecast. But we showed up with a varying mixes of hope and resignation.

But, with the inspiring words of James Flory (there is a band of low pressure that will make the afternoon flyable) and the expected arrival of one of the clubs weather gods (Pete Startup) we got to work getting kit organised – and suddenly the mist evaporated and the sun emerged turning the day into a wonderful soaring day where the course clocked in flights well over a hour long and a lot of enjoyment and instruction!

We succeeded in everything from instruction, stunts, laughter and after a successful day we all finished happy and looking forward to the next day.

Tuesday was nearly a repeat which brought out Stewart Henshall back in the country to fly HMS.

Wednesday brought out some Club Members to join in the fun, but Thursday and Friday involved Simulator work and lectures.

Thanks to the Instructors James Flory and Guy Adams and all the helpers, and Vicki for keeping us fed. – Paul Warren
