The winter that just keeps giving!
Driving up from Plymouth today I was genuinely excited about getting into the air.
I have been dreaming about a full height launch, a 3 minute circuit or even a genuine cable break!
Unfortunately weather god orographic had other ideas!
Not sure what we have done to upset him but today was a real poke in eye.
Pete Smith held the daily briefing, the first since January 17th and explained the careful positioning of both winch and launch point. All the kit was readied in anticipation of a good day. There was a real air of excitement and anticipation in the clubhouse with smiles all round.
Weather god orographic had other ideas, at times the sun came out briefly, the cloud base rose briefly, the excitement rose briefly……
Unfortunately before we knew it, the kit was all tucked up and locked away.
So another day of disappointment, this one was hard to take as we were all set up to fly, we just needed a little bit higher cloud base.
Thank heavens for Vicky’s amazing culinary delights!
Saturday’s weather is looking good, so as long as we can all be nice to the gods we should have a good day. – Mark Courtney
