Today’s forecast was for a similar wind direction but lighter strength so whilst the day looked flyable it was likely that Bishop’s ridge might not be as helpful as yesterday. With the private owners at SGC for the Cross Country Development Week starting to grid early the DG505 was towed down to the launch point ahead of the 8:30 briefing so that we were ready to start launching and make the most of the morning before the grid launched around midday.

Having had a suitable ‘discussion’ as to who would occupy which seat, Mark Courtney and Simon Leeson took the first flight in JZK and similar to yesterday the DG505 took to the air regularly during the day with the front and back seats being used by various combinations of Mike Sloggett, Paul Summers and Peter Smith.

After working on the DG505 trailer for several hours making various repair improvements Mark and Simon took JZK for the last flight of the day. Guy Adams (Open Cirrus CEC) had arrived yesterday and took to the skies for a couple of flights. Ron and Daniel Johns took the ASH25 (711) off to explore the Scottish countryside dodging the rain showers which appeared during the afternoon.
Another good day- Mike Sloggett
