Skysight had Rufforth right on the edge of the s**t weather, which meant everyone was going south today.
The grid opened at 8:30am and there was a race across the airfield to get to the prime positions at the front. Bob Bromwich made it to the front again! Briefing was at 10am, which set a ‘The Great South Adventure’. They set a big ring of 18 TP’s to the South and south West, the listed TP’s could be gained in any order, but only once.
Launching started at 11:30am, BBB (Chris Gill and John Pursey) headed east to get the sea points again, DD3 (JB and Gill Morrison) headed towards York East, and JZK (Dan Hender and me) decided the clouds didn’t look very appealing in that direction, so headed south, but managed to go down the middle of all the turnpoints, with the clouds either side not looking particularly tempting.
Nick, Alan and Phil left with the Eagle trailer at about 1:15!!! Knowing the Eagle was landing out, they decided to follow them down south!
DD3 achieved 150km, JZK 270km in 4 hours, both making it back to the airfield. BBB finally landed out at about 6:30pm somewhere near Kings Lynn, with the retrieve crew hot on their tail! 309km.
With no chef to cook tea, the remaining Enterprisers headed to the Indian for a meal.

Well, the Indian Dan chose was excellent last night. The Eagle retrieve crew met the Eagle just 20 minutes after landing out near Kings Lynn and then ordered their takeaway from the menu we sent while we were eating. We were therefore able to return with the food at the same time as the crew got back (9:50pm)… excellent timing.
