Along with the change back to GMT, the heavy rains which cancelled Saturday flying transitioned on Sunday to scattered showers and a brisk westerly wind.
Four Exeter students augmented the low member turnout, and all enjoyed the Club Simulator while waiting for conditions to improve. Around midday the wind had dropped a little, Regional Examiner Simon Minson and DI Shaun Dayman decided to bring one K21 out of the hangar and have a go.
The ridge was working well, giving all four students extended flights. A big thanks goes out to the instructors, Sally for logging, Rob for winching and to all the others who turned a “maybe we’ll fly” day to one where our new members went home with great memories. – TS
