Last day of the competition, an Ever Decreasing Circles Task was set. Out and return, and out again to the rings to gain points. However, the weather wasn’t being as accommodating as on previous days, thick clouds overhead, instead of the blue skies predicted by both Rasp and Sky sight!

A sniffer was sent out at 12:45pm and things were reported to be improving, so the grid was launched at 1:30pm with JZK (Dan and Rob) not far off the front. BBB (Chris Gill and JB) slightly further back, but with points in hand, they didn’t seem too worried.
JZK took the lead, heading south east for the Humber and bagging the sea crossing points, then getting back to Rufforth, managing a climb and getting a second ring. They got back to the airfield at 3:30pm well within the 4pm deadline.
BBB in the meantime, headed in a similar direction, but made the decision to land at Pocklington, meeting the trailer ready to derig for the two seat competition next week, and joining DD3.

By 7pm all the gliders were packed away in their trailers and we enjoyed the after-competition party.
Another incredible Competition Enterprise with over 50,000km flown over 7 days by 34 competitors.
Massive congratulations to Chris Gill for winning the competition in the Eagle built in 1957!! Congratulations also to Team Hender led by Dan with DG505 coming 5th on the final day, and 4th overall for Pure gliders. And DD3 just enjoyed the whole Competition Enterprise experience.
Amazing stuff, and we all enjoyed watching it unfold on Glide and Seek – Sally Hender
